Novel ways to address the challenges of sustainable packaging
Sustainable Packaging Solutions talks to WISE Network
The sustainable products development (SPD) group have been working with Sustainable Packaging Solutions (SPS) to develop new and novel packaging for ambient temperature packaging.
Recently the supply change directives have changed for ‘ambient temperature products’ to ensure that products are held at ambient temperatures through out the whole of the supply chain. This has caused product protection issues through out the whole of the supply chain.
The SPD group and SPS have worked together on an R&D project with WISE Network to develop a new packaging material to compliment their existing range of products. This ongoing project has lead to the modelling and potential development of a new thermal mass product that will operate in the ambient temperature range.
“We have greatly benefited from our engagement with the WISE Network programme and look forward to making further progress in both reducing the impact of our operations and extending our offer to those who are hard-to-reach.”
